The electronic engine development process requires PC support tools that interact with the electronic subsystem and its various feature sets. Calltem III is used to increase the productivity of engineers who develop electronic engine functions by providing diagnostic, simulation and value manipulation capabilities for electronic control modules (ECMs).
As is the case with most support tools, Calltem III tries to work with all the features of the ECM. However, this superset of functionality is not always feasible given the rapid growth and change experienced in Commins electronic systems. As a way to try to give the greatest support to each electronic engine program, this tool will provide a base set of capabilities that will work on any ECM following the CORE tool interface standards. The Calltem III application is designed to support a wide variety of users and access levels. The Calltem III tool will replace Calltem II, NGET, Engineering ESDN, Unlock and Field Calltem.
